Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Francisco Mateos:

Fr. Francisco Mateos was a Vincentian priest was ordained a priest in 1958 who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 2003, he was named in a civil lawsuit alleging that he sexually abused a child while serving at Santa Isabel from 1976 to 1979. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles investigated the claim and determined that there were no grounds to remove Fr. Mateos from ministry, and he remained an active priest.

According to reports, Fr. Mateos moved back to Spain at some point before his death in 2018. Fr. Mateos was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors.
