Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father George Lally:

Father Geroge Lally was originally ordained a priest for the Diocese of Providence in Rhode Island in 1968. He was transferred to the he Diocese of San Diego in the early 1970’s. According to media reports, in August 2002, he was named in a lawsuit in alleging that he sexually abused a man on several occasions, when he was a child in in 197. Lally was assigned to St. Mary’s in El Centro at the time of the alleged abuse. When the boy was just 9-years-old, he reported the incident to the church pastor. George Lally was transferred.

The Diocese of San Diego agreed to pay for the boy’s college costs and the matter never landed in court. By the mid-1970’s, George Lally was no longer listed in the Catholic Directories. He officially left the priesthood in 1979, and married a former nun.He was last known as living in San Clemente, California with his wife.
