Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Jesus Jesse Dominguez:
Fr. Jesus Jesse Dominguez was ordained a Salesian priest in 1983, and served in multiple parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, he has been accused and named in six civil lawsuits of sexually abusing at least six children between 1973 and 1988. The abuse allegedly occurred at Our Lady of Soledad in Coachella and a Los Angeles County Catholic school. According to media reports, in 2005, Dominguez faced 58 counts of sexual abuse for criminal cases in California.
One of his victims alleges that Fr. Dominguez gained his trust when he was an orphan boy by buying him clothes and taking him on outings. During the two years of contact, each outing resulted in sexual molestation. This happened two or three times per week. When the boy expressed discomfort with the situation, Dominguez feigned heart attacks and threatened to kill the boy and himself if the situation was revealed to anyone.
Fr. Dominguez was laicized in 2000. In 2001, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor child molestation. As of 2004, Fr. Dominguez was a registered sex offender. In 2005, Fr. Dominguez was criminally charged with sexually abusing two boys from 1988 to 1989, but prosecutors believe he fled to Mexico before he could be arrested. It is presumed he is somewhere in Mexico, and since Mexico has no extradition agreement with the United States, he is a free man.
Fr. Dominguez was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2004 list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. He was also listed on San Bernardino Diocese’s list in 2018. Fr. Dominguez’s current whereabouts and whether he has access to children are unknown.
