Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Louis Meyer:

Fr. Louis Meyer was ordained a priest for the Congregation of Holy Cross Order, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Fr. Meyer was district superior for Holy Cross missions in Uganda and British East Africa beginning in 1961. He was an assistant pastor at Holy Cross Church, and later became assistant pastor at St. Francis Xavier Church in Burbank, Calif. He withdrew from the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1974.

According to media reports, in 2003, he was accused and named by a woman in a civil lawsuit of child sexual abuse from 1968 to 1969, while serving at St. Francis Xavier in Burbank, CA.  Fr. Meyer withdrew from his Order in 1974, and his whereabouts and status until his death are unknown.

Fr. Meyer was listed on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2019 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
