Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Mark Falvey:

Father Mark Falvey was ordained a Jesuit priest in 1928 who served in multiple parishes including in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. He spent many years of his career serving at missions in China and the Philippines. According to media reports, in 2002 and 2003, three people accused him of sexual abuse dating back to the 1950s and 1960s. He died in 1975.

Father Falvey has been accused by at least 10 people of child sexual abuse between 1959 and 1975 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hollywood. In May 2007, he was named in a lawsuit filed against the Jesuit religious order in which a settlement of $16M was reached between 9 plaintiffs.

According to media reports, in December 2015, the Philippines presidential candidate, Rodrigo Duterte said Father Falvey abused him when he was a freshman at Ateneo de Davao High School, and that he molested other students as well.

Father Falvey’s name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2004 list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors, as well as on the Jesuits West Province List in December 2018.
