Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Matthias Berumen:

Fr. Matthias Berumen was ordained a priest in 1986, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 2002, he was accused of sexual abuse of a minor from 1985 to 1988 while he served at St. Martha Church in Valinda. The abuse was the subject of a civil lawsuit, and Fr. Berumen left the ministry.

Fr. Berumen was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ 2004 list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. He died in 2019.
