Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Michael Casey:

Father Michael Casey, a native of Ireland, was ordained to the priesthood in 1939, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Los Angeles. He was the founding Pastor of Maria Regina Catholic Church in Gardena, California. He oversaw all construction and development of that parish, including the church and school, both of which were completed in 1958.

According to media reports, in 2010, an allegation was reported that Fr. Casey sexually abused at least one child in the 1960s, while serving at Maria Regina in Los Angeles, CA.

He died in 1978, at the age of 67. He was named publicly as accused by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on its 2018 list of Credibly Accused Clergy of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
