Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Robert Koerner:

Fr. Robert Koerner was ordained a Oblate priest in 1937, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, and Montana. According to media reports, in 2002, the San Diego bishop learned that Fr. Koerner had molested several minors during his 27-year tenure at St. Patrick’s in Calipatria, CA. His personal file, released in 2013, showed that Fr. Koerner admitted fondling and kissing boys and girls. He was named in three lawsuits in 2003 and four other settlements. One of the suits in 2020 was by five men, each alleging abuse by Fr. Koerner from 1965-late 1980s.

Fr. Koerner died in 1999 in San Antonio, TX. He is listed on the Diocese of San Diego’s 2007 List of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor.
