Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Wallace Daley:

Fr. Wallace Daley was ordained a priest in 1955, and served in multiple parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in 2002, Fr. Wallace Daley was accused of sexually abusing a boy from approximately 1957 to 1963. Fr. Daley was excarnated from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles but remained active in the Diocese of Orange, the Diocese of Baja, and several other locations. His career as a priest included many sporadic assignments and leaves. He was named in at least one civil suit, which alleged that he molested a young boy 41 years earlier and settled in 2006.

Before the Diocese of Orange split from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, Father Daley was listed in the Official Catholic Directory as being “on duty outside the Diocese,” and is believed to have been in charge of the small parish in the Delhi barrio of Santa Ana. After briefly reappearing in the Official Catholic Directory as being assigned to the Diocese of Orange from 1975 until 1978, Fr. Daley was again listed as being “on duty outside the Diocese” from 1979 until 1988. According to his personnel file, he was located near El Rosario, approximately 200 miles from Baja, until he again resurfaced in the Diocese of Orange in 1989.

In January 2013, Father Daley was included in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles’ list of priests accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Father Daley’s whereabouts and access to children from approximately 1990 until his death in April 2000 are unknown.
