Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father John Wishard:
According to media reports, at least one survivor has accused Father John Wishard of child sexual abuse, in approximately 1980. He pleaded no contest that year and was sentenced to five years' probation. In 1982, a judge terminated his probation. The felony was reduced to a misdemeanor in 1991 and later dismissed.
Father Wishard returned to active ministry in 1987. Prior to his retirement in 1997, he worked as a police chaplain. He was laicized in 2002. His name appeared on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles' 2004 list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. As of 2016, it is believed he was living in Henrico, VA. His current whereabouts are unknown,
