Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Raul Carvajal:

Originally from Ecuador, Fr. Raul Carvajal (Hernandez) was ordained a priest in 1971 and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Monterey. According to media reports, in 2005, Fr. Carvajal was accused of sexual abuse to a minor in 1976 and again from 1984-1985. The details of the sexual abuse allegations, including where the alleged abuse occurred, or the victim's age/gender, are unknown.

Fr. Carvajal Hernandez left the archdiocese in 1982, but the Los Angeles Archdiocese didn't receive reports of the abuse until 2009.

Fr. Raul Carvajal is listed on the Monterey Diocese's list in 2019 and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles' 2018 List of Archdiocesan Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor or the Subject of Eligible IRCP Compensation Claims.
