Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father William Wood:
Father William Wood was ordained a priest in 1965, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. According to media reports, in January 2013, his name was quietly added, along with 24 others, to the Archdiocese Final Addendum list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors.
The 24 names were disclosed in a report posted on the archdiocese’s website along with 12,000 pages of internal records detailing how the church dealt with child sexual abuse claims. BishopAccountability.org, a non-profit group that researches and archives documents related to clergy sex abuse, originally uncovered the list and published the names of the suspected offenders.
In 2018, Father Wood’s name was also included on the Jesuits West Province list, which noted a report in 2002 of the sexual abuse of a minor that same year. He died 2014.
