Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Edward Beutner:
Fr. Edward Beutner was ordained a priest in 1965, who served in multiple dioceses including in the Diocese of Santa Rosa. According to media reports, in 2002, he was removed from ministry amid allegations that he sexually abused a girl in 1992. In 2006, the Diocese of Superior was sued by a plaintiff alleging that Fr. Beutner sexually abused four teen boys in the late 1960s, while he was at Christ the King. The lawsuit also stated that the diocese had received multiple reports that Fr. Beutner was molesting children but failed to report these accusations to the police or to warn the public.
Fr. Beutner was a Fellow of the Westar Institute at the time of his death in 2008.
