Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Jose Superiaso:

A native of the Philippines, Fr. Jose Superiaso was accused in 2003 of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl from 1994-1995 while serving at St. Andrew's in Daly City, California. According to media reports, the report was made to the San Francisco police claiming that Superiaso often babysat the victim and her sister, who were also from the Philippines, and that the abuse happened many times in the church. Allegedly, Superiaso threatened to send the girl back to the Philippines if she told.

According to media reports, Superiaso pleaded guilty in June 2005 after investigators uncovered more evidence. He was sentenced to ten years in prison but was released from jail in January 2012 due to time served before his conviction. After his release, Superiaso's victim's elder sister alleged publicly that Superiaso had also taken advantage of her sexually in the 1990s when she was in her 20s after she confided in him that she had been molested as a child in the Philippines. He was deported back to the Philippines in 2013, where he is believed to be still living.

Superiaso's status as a priest and whether he has access to children are unknown.
