Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Philip McCrillis:

Fr. Philip McCrillis was ordained a priest in 1961 who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of San Jose. According to media reports, in 2004, two sisters filed a civil lawsuit against him, alleging he had sexually abused them when they were junior high school in the 1960s. He was serving at St. Albert the Great in Palo Alto at the time. McCrillis took them each on overnight trips to his cabin or to his St. Patrick's Seminary apartment. He was reportedly in a relationship with their divorced mother when the alleged abuse began.

According to media reports, the two women received a 6-figure settlement from the San Francisco Archdiocese, and the Diocese of San Jose deemed the allegations to be credible. They have suffered from depression, eating disorders, alcoholism, and troubled relationships as a result of the abuse they endured.

In 2003, McCrillis retired due to his Parkinson's Disease. He was removed from active ministry the following year after the investigation took place.

McCrillis died in 2007.
