Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Rino Spada:

Fr. Rino Spada was a a Scalabrini priest from Canada that worked in the Diocese of Monterey. In 2019, Fr. Spada was included on the Diocese of Monterey’s 2019 List of Credibly Accused Clergy of Sexual Abuse. Very little information is known of Fr. Spada’s activities within the church, as the Diocese of Monterey has not released any information about Spada’s assignment history.

The list does state that there was a report received in 2011 against Fr. Rino Spada in reference to sexual abuse that took place from 1967-1969. No further information regarding the age/gender of his alleged victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or Spada’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is known.

Fr. Spada died in 2002.
