Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Joaquin Guerrero:

Fr. Joaquin Guerrero was ordained in Cuba and worked in the Archdiocese of Miami in the 1960s.

Guerrero was accused in 2002 of raping and abusing a 14-year-old boy. According to media reports, the abuse went on for six months, starting in 1962. His alleged victim said he had come to Florida from Cuba under a program sponsored by the archdiocese and was placed in a camp, where the abuse occurred. Guerrero was ordained in Cuba and worked in the archdiocese in the 1960s. According to media reports, he apparently left the archdiocese in 1965. The claim was settled in 2004.

Very little is known of Guerrero’s activities within the church as the Archdiocese of Miami has not released any information about Guerrero’s assignment history.
