Monsignor Thomas Robillard was ordained to the priesthood in the Diocese of Ogdensburg in 1944. He served in multiple parishes throughout his career. According to media reports, in February 2021, he was named a lawsuit was filed in the state Supreme Court against the Diocese of Ogdensburg, alleging that he sexually abused a child between 1970 and 1973 at St. John the Baptist Church in Keeseville, NY. No further details about the abuse have been released. The suit also claims that the Diocese of Ogdensburg knew or “reasonably should have known” of Monsignor Robillard’s propensities to commit acts of sexual assault.
Monsignor Robillard retired in 1993 and lived in Norfolk until he died in 2009. He was 91 years old.
