Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Robert  Allmendinger:

Fr. Robert Allmendinger is listed on the Diocese of Rockville Centre‘s 2021 List of Clergy Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. According to the list, the alleged sexual abuse occurred while Fr. Allmendinger worked at St. William the Abbot Church in Seaford, NY. It also says that the abuse took place in his car and at a family member’s home in the Hamptons during the 1980s. The details of the alleged victim, including age and gender, are unknown.

According to media reports, Fr. Robert Allmendinger was removed from service in 1986 for unknown reasons. He subsequently changed his name to Robert Allmen. He now calls himself Bishop, and has been performing weddings around Long Island, NY. He continues to provide community support, even though he is not in “good standing.”  He has several websites and wedding pages listed that call him “Father Robert.”
