Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Br. George Curtis:

Br. George Curtis was a Christian Brother who was assigned to twelve Christian Brothers schools in the New Orleans-Santa Fe Province in the Diocese of Lafayette. He worked as a teacher, spiritual leader, and throughout his years of service.  and spent short periods of time in several communities before settling down at De La Salle, in Lafayette LA, in 1989. He spent his last five years in Oakwood Nursing Home, in Lafayette LA.

According to media reports, in 1991, he was accused in a lawsuit of repeatedly sexually abusing two brothers between 1975 and 1977. He encouraged the mother of the boys to allow Br. Curtis to have custody of them three to five times a week for their benefit. At the time of the alleged abuse, he worked at a local parish and was an educator at Catholic High School in New Iberia.

Br. George Curtis retired in 1983,and died in December 1998 at the age of 87.
