Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Deacon Lester Breaux:

Deacon Lester Breaux was ordained a priest in 1977, and served in the Diocese of Charlotte. According to media reports, a lawsuit was filed in 1986 alleging that he sexually molested a child in 1985 when he was acting as a deacon at St. Peter Church in Carencro, LA. The lawsuit was dismissed by a joint motion of both parties after a settlement was reached. There is no indication that the church acted on the allegation of abuse against Deacon Breaux.

In April 2019, Deacon Breax was publicly named by the Diocese of Lafayette as a deacon “against whom credible accusations have been made regarding sexual abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult.” Information about the date, age/gender of his alleged victim/victims and the nature of the alleged sexual abuse was not provided by the Diocese of Lafayette. The alleged abuse took place while Breaux served as a deacon St. Peter’s Church in Carencro, LA. Lester Breaux resigned from the ministry in 1994.

Lester Breaux died in 1996.
