Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Robert Limoges:

Fr. Robert Limoges was ordained a priest in 1979, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Lafayette and in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. According to media reports, in January 1983, he was accused of fondling an adolescent in Eunice, LA. No charges were pressed at that time because Limoges was referred to treatment. The Diocese of Lafayette sent Fr. Limoges to the House of Affirmation in Montara, CA, which is a treatment center for pedophile priests. In 1984 the Diocese of Lafayette wrote a request to Bishop Stanley Ott of the Diocese of Baton Rouge asking that Limoges be transferred to a parish in Baton Rouge. After two months at St. Joan of Arc in Bayou Pigeon, Fr. Limoges was suspended and removed from the Diocese of Baton Rouge. In 1984, Limoges was removed from priestly ministry and entered St. Bernard Abbey in Alabama.

According to a lawsuit filed in 1991, Fr. Robert Limoges is accused of molesting two boys, ages six and seven years old, while he was pastor at Our Lady of Victory Church in Loreauville, LA. The lawsuit and subsequent appeal were dismissed because too much time had passed between the alleged abuse and the filing of the lawsuit.

According to media reports, in April 2019, the Diocese of Lafayette publicly named Fr. Limoges on its disclosure list of diocesan clergy against whom credible allegations have been made regarding sexual abuse of a minor or vulnerable adult. In July 2019, the Diocese of Baton Rouge, included Fr. Limoges on its list of accused clergy publicly identified by other dioceses.

The whereabouts of Fr. Robert Limoges are unknown.
