Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Roman Gromala:
Fr. Roman Gromala was ordained a priest in 1950 who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Norwich for five years. According to media reports, he left the diocesan ministry in 1955 and was excardinated from the Diocese of Norwich in 1972. He relocated to Florida was then incardinated into the Diocese of St. Petersburg, where he was served for the next three decades.
Very little is known of Gromala’s activities within the church as the Diocese of Norwich has not released any information about Gromala’s assignment history with the diocese. In addition, information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or Gromala’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.
Gromala’s name was included in the Diocese of Norwich’s 2019 list of clergy credibly accused with allegations of the substance of sexual abuse of a minor.
He died in 1991.
