Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Stephan Johnson:
Fr. Stephan Johnson was ordained a Paulist priest in 1981, who served in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, the Diocese of Columbus, and in the Diocese of Norwich. He left the diocese in 1987 and the Paulist Fathers in July 1996. According to media reports, in 2018, allegations of child sexual abuse were reported, stemming from his time serving at the St. Thomas Aquinas University parish from 1985 to 1987. Information about the age/gender of Johnson’s victim/victims or the nature of the alleged sexual abuse is unknown.
Johnson’s name was included in the Diocese of Norwich’s 2019 list of clergy credibly accused with allegations of the substance of sexual abuse of a minor. He was also included and named publicly as accused by the Paulist Fathers on its 2019 list. His name also appeared on the Diocese of Columbus list released in May 2019.
Johnson’s current whereabouts are unknown.
