Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Br. Paul Gauvin:

Fr. Paul Gauvin was a member of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. According to media reports, in early 2012, a Maine man contacted Sacred Heart Parish in Bloomfield, CT where Br. Gauvin was acting as the Director of Liturgy to report that Gauvin sexually abused him when the brother was director of religious education at St. Thomas Aquinas in Madawaska, ME. The alleged abuse occurred in the early 1970’s. The abuse occurred over a two-year period and began when the victim was an 11-year-old altar server at St. Thomas Aquinas. The claim was substantiated in December 2012 by the Diocese of Portland, but no  information regarding the nature of the alleged abuse has been released.

Br. Gauvin was immediately removed from his position at Sacred Heart. He was prohibited from having any contact with minors, and was placed under the supervision of a regional religious superior for the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. His current whereabouts are unknown.
