Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Yves Robitaille

In February 2019, the Diocese of Alexandria publicly named Fr. Yves Robitaille on its list of clergy credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor. According to the list, Fr. Robitaille’s file revealed evidence of sexual misconduct and abuse of a male minor in the 1950s.

The Permanent Review Board, which evaluates all allegations of clerical sexual misconduct involving minors, reviewed the evidence and determined the allegations were credible. Further details about the nature and scope of the abuse are not publicly available.

According to his obituary, Fr. Yves Robitaille served for about 45 years before his retirement in May 1990. Fr. Robitaille died in his residence on July 27, 1998.
