Father Patrick O'Liddy

Ordained: 1990

Removed from ministry: 1999

Assigned as follows:

  • 1983-1987: St. Louis University (St. Louis, MO)
  • 1990-1995: Jesuitenkolleg (Innsbruck, Austria)
  • 1995-1996: Regis University (Denver, CO)

Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Patrick O'Liddy:

Fr. Patrick O'Liddy joined the Jesuits in 1973. He was ordained a priest in 1990, who served in the Archdiocese of Denver. He was a former campus minister and liturgy scholar at Regis University. According to media reports, in 1999, while on leave from the Jesuits, Fr. O'Liddy plead guilty to a felony of attempted sexual assault involving a 14-year-old Colorado girl he met on the Internet. O'Liddy pretended to be a teenager when he began chatting with the girl online. He then sent the girl a picture of his genitals. The girl's parents notified law enforcement.

Investigators, using the girl's online identity, set up a meeting with O'Liddy at a local mall. When O'Liddy arrived, he was arrested. In August 2000, O'Liddy was sentenced to 10 years probation and 200 hours of community service. He is on the Colorado Sex Offender Registry.

Fr. Patrick O'Liddy was publicly named on the Jesuits Central and Southern Province "list of Jesuits with credible accusations of sexual abuse" in 2019.

His current whereabouts are unknown.
