Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Father Raymond A. Donohue:
Father Raymond A. Donohue worked at various parishes in the Diocese of Buffalo before retiring in 2004. In September 2021, Fr. Donohue was suspended from performing priestly ministry or presenting himself publicly as a priest after a claim against him surfaced in confidential documents filed in bankruptcy court under the NY Child Victims Act in 2020. Donohue was accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old altar boy in 1987 while assigned to Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lakeview, NY.
In July 2022, the Diocese of Buffalo restored Fr. Donohue’s priestly faculties. According to media reports, the review board for the diocese found that the claims were not substantiated as the alleged victim declined to cooperate with the investigation. Donohue denied all allegations.
