Summary of Abuse Allegations Against Brother Donald Dimitroff

Brother Donald Dimitroff was ordained a brother in the Christian Brothers Order and worked in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In 2002, Fr. Dimitroff was listed on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of Minors list. In April 2023, Maryland’s Attorney General released a report alleging 156 Catholic clergy members sexually abused at least 600 children over six decades. The report lists the names of the abusers, including Fr. Dimitroff.

According to the AG’s report, in 1997, a man reported to the Christian Brothers that he was sexually abused by Dimitroff beginning in the early 1980s and lasting until April 1997. Dimitroff met the victim when the victim was a student, and Dimitroff was a teacher at Bishop Walsh High School. Dimitroff admitted to a relationship with the victim but claimed he believed the boy was 18 years old. Despite the abuse and Dimitroff’s admission, he was allowed to reside at the Christian Brothers’ residence on the campus of Calvert Hall High School until 2002.
