Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Father Simon Kenny:

Fr. Simon Kenny was ordained a Catholic priest and worked in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. for almost five decades and was elevated to Monsignor five years before retirement. In 2019, Fr. Kenny was listed on the Archdiocese of Baltimore's Credibly Accused of Sexual Abuse of Minors list. In April 2023, Maryland's Attorney General released a report alleging 156 Catholic clergy members sexually abused at least 600 children over six decades. The report lists the names of the abusers, including Father Simon Kenny.

According to the Attorney General's report, in 2016, a former parishioner of St. Mary's reported to the archdiocese that Fr. Kenny French kissed her without consent in 1982 as an adult. The kiss occurred at her mother's home, where Kenny waltzed into the kitchen, dipped her as if dancing, and stuck his tongue in her mouth to kiss. Kenny then moved on to her 16-year-old daughter and kissed her the same way. After the incident, the entire family stopped attending church. The archdiocese sent the mandated notice to law enforcement and child protective services later that year.

Msgr. Kenny died in 1999.
