Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Brother Charles “Jude” Ruetten

Charles “Jude” Ruetten was a member of the Friars of the Province of Saint Barbara and served in the Diocese of Stockton in California, Oregon, Arizona, and Colorado. In 2019, Fr. Ruetten was included on the Franciscan Friars Province of Saint Barbara’s List of Credible Claims of Sexual Abuse of a Minor. According to this list, in 1993, a report was made alleging that Fr. Ruetten sexually abused a minor in 1963. This list also states that Fr. Ruetten left the Order of Friars Minor in approximately 1967.
