On June 11, 2024, massage Lorenso Montoute of Palm Beach County, Florida, got his license to practice massage therapy restricted by the Florida Department of Health. An Order of Emergency Restriction was issued after an administrative complaint was filed against Montoute of sexual assault on a client while working at EAU Palm Beach Resort and Spa located at 100 SOUTH OCEAN BLVD.
MANALAPAN, FL. Montoute has been a licensed massage therapist in Florida since 2019. The emergency order prohibits Montoute from practicing massage therapy on female patients in Florida, effective immediately.

According to the Emergency Order, a 49-year-old female client received a two-hour massage from Lorenso Montoute at EAU Palm Beach Spa on January 25, 2024. The Order states that the client was completely disrobed, lying face down, and covered by a sheet. The complaint states that during the massage, Montoute massaged the client very high up on her thigh, then lifted the sheet and placed his hand over the client’s vagina in a cupping motion. Montoute then allegedly rubbed his hand in a circular motion over her vagina until the client pulled his hands off of her. Montoute reportedly said, “that was not right, I apologize” to the client and asked her for a hug, which she obliged due to shock.

According to Montoute’s Yelp profile, he also provides mobile massage services in Lake Worth. His LinkedIn profile shows his former employment at Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences, Marriott Hotels in Palm Beach, and Hand and Stone Massage and Facial Spa in West Palm Beach.

Clients of massage therapists are placed in isolated, vulnerable settings where they can be subject to abuse by their massage therapists. Due to the potential for abuse that is inherent under these circumstances, massage therapists must possess good judgment and good moral character to practice massage therapy safely. Montoute willfully abused his position as a massage therapist to sexually violate a patient. Montoute abused his power and lacked good moral judgment to practice massage safely on female clients, which presented a serious danger to the public; therefore, as a result of his actions, he is prohibited from practicing massage therapy on female clients in Florida.
