Tallahassee Church Employee Arrested on Charges of Sexual Assault on a Teen

Hunter Eubanks, a 30-year-old Baptist church employee, was arrested by the Leon County Sheriff's Office on December 4, 2024, on multiple charges of sexual assault, including battery of a minor, cruelty toward a child, aggravated battery on a child, use of a computer to lure a child, obscene communication, and travel to meet after using a computer to lure a child. He was held in the Leon County Detention Facility and ordered to avoid social media and to stay away from the church and minors. The Leon County Sheriff's office says Hunter Eubanks turned himself in at the Leon County Detention facility. A bond amount of $30,000 was set for Eubanks.

According to media reports, Eubanks allegedly assaulted and committed "multiple sexual acts" on a 16-year-old who attended the church he served, Morningside Church, located at 1560 Pecrick Road in Tallahassee. the assaults were said to have taken place on church grounds between July and October of 2024. According to media reports, the Leon County Sheriff's Office said the youth pastor was involved in music and worship, and he started to abuse the 16-year-old girl in July. Deputies learned of the sex crimes on October 9th and have been investigating since before issuing a warrant for his arrest.

While LCSO originally referred to Eubanks as a "youth pastor," the church's website from November listed him as "a worship leader." Eubanks served as the 9 a.m. service's worship leader since April 2020, and prior to this role, he served in the church's youth and college ministries, according to the now deleted biography.

According to court documents, Edubanks must abide by the following restrictions:

  • No contact with the church.
  • No Social Media
  • No contact with the victim or family members
  • Stay away from where minors congregate
  • No contact with minors except own child.
