On March 22, 2025, massage therapist Anil Nayar was arrested in Broward County on charges of sexual battery following a complaint made to the Broward Sheriff’s Office stating Nayar sexually assaulted her during a couples massage in Pompano Beach. Nayar, 60, posted a $35,000 bond and has since been released. The Department of Health ordered an Emergency Suspension following his arrest. According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office booking report, the alleged abuse occurred while working at Red Rose Massage & Spa at 1201 S. Ocean Blvd. in Pompano Beach. Nayar has been a licensed massage therapist in Florida since January 2025. An Emergency Order restricting Nayar's license was entered on June 21, 2025.
According to media reports, on March 22, a couple went to Red Rose for a couples massage. Nayar was assigned to the victim, while another therapist worked on her husband. The victim told deputies that as Nayar massaged her leg, he began to get “very handsy,” massaging her thigh and eventually touching her genitals with his bare finger.”
The victim “immediately stated ‘no, I’m good’ because she was worried about this spa possibly being one of those ‘happy ending’ massage places,” BSO Detective Alyssa Sonn wrote in her report. A few minutes later, the victim claims Nayar massaged her thigh again and digitally penetrated her, deputies said.
“She sternly stated, ‘I am good, please focus on my feet!’” Sonn wrote.

The reports state that Nayar then massaged her feet, but before finishing the massage, lifted her shoulders until her face and breasts were exposed, which she was also uncomfortable with.
After the massage, the victim asked her boyfriend if they were “kind of handsy” with him as well, asking if he believed it was a “happy ending” massage parlor, authorities said.
The woman’s boyfriend told detectives that he heard his girlfriend say “no, not there” twice, the report states; he said he wanted to go back to the Red Rose and “beat” Nayar but “kept his composure.”
In an interview, Nayar described his massage routine and told detectives there was a “possibility” that he may have “touched or grazed” the woman’s privates, because “he is working high on the inner thigh and the body is oily,” the report states, but claims nothing was intentional.
According to Anil Nayar's LinkedIn profile, he was formerly the manager at Broward Mobile Catering. There is also an Anil Nayar listed as the Registered Agent of Simply Massage in Davie, Florida. It is unknown if they are one and the same.
When patients book a massage, it is to decompress and relax. The massage therapist-patient relationship is founded on mutual trust and respect. Clients trust that the massage therapists employed at a spa are carefully vetted and safe to work with. Any violation of that trust requires swift action, as it is both unacceptable and unlawful for a massage therapist to touch a client in a sexual manner.
