On September 15, 2025, the State of Florida Department of Health issued an Emergency Suspension of massage therapist, Luis M. Castillo's license to practice massage therapy. This suspension was issued following a sexual assault complaint against Castillo while working at Elements Massage in Stuart, FL. Castillo had been a licensed massage therapist in Florida since 2012.
Allegations Against Luis Castillo
According to the Emergency Order, on June 6, 2025, Castillo performed a massage on a 75-year-old female client at Elements Massage in Stuart. The client disrobed to her underwear and lay facedown on the table, covered with a sheet. During the massage, Castillo removed the client's lower undergarments without her permission and reached his hand underneath her body and touched the client's vagina, labia, and or clitoris. Castillo told the client that many of his female patients enjoy his massages, which brings him a lot of joy.
According to Castillo's LinkedIn page, he previously worked at Waves Massage, Oasis Med Spa, and Elements Massage in Coral Springs, FL.
Clients of massage therapists are placed in isolated, vulnerable settings where they can be subject to abuse by their massage therapists. Due to the potential for abuse that is inherent under these circumstances, massage therapists must possess good judgment and good moral character to practice massage therapy safely. Castillo willfully abused his position as a massage therapist to sexually violate a patient, abused his power, and lacked good moral judgment to practice massage safely. Castillo's license is therefore suspended pending further investigation.
