Summary of Abuse Allegations against Brother Salvatore Billante:

Br. Salvatore Billante was a member of the Salesians of Don Bosco religious order. He was a youth minister at Corpus Christi Church for 25 years. According to media reports, he allegedly sexually abused as many as 25 children between 1969 and 1989. At some point during this time period, he worked at Salesian High School in Richmond and Corpus Christi Church in San Francisco, California.

According to media reports, in 1989, Billante pleaded guilty to one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a boy under the age of 14. The repeated abuse occurred from 1972 to 1978, at the order's Camp Salesian in Lake County. In a plea bargain, prosecutors dismissed a second count of similar acts with another boy. Billante was sentenced to eight years in prison. He was released on parole in 1994 and registered as a sex offender. In 2002, he was arrested again for child sexual abuse. He was named in at least one civil suit.

In 2019, Br. Salvatore Billante was included on the Diocese of Oakland list of religious brothers who have lived in the Oakland Diocese credibly accused of sexual abuse of a minor.

Billante's current whereabouts are unknown.
