Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations Against Fr. Frank Iazetta:
The Diocese of Trenton recently released a list naming each of the priests within their ministry who have credible allegations of child sexual abuse against them. The Diocese included Fr. Frank J. Iazetta on the list.
In 2020, four lawsuits had been filed claiming sexual abuse of children in the 1970s. According to media reports, one suit alleged Iazetta touched a 7-year-old girl's genitals in 1975. Another lawsuit claims Iazetta groomed and abused a boy for 16 years, including while the boy was a student at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, New Jersey. Iazetta left the school after 1974.
Iazetta reportedly transferred in 1986 to Tennessee and that was his last assignment in Trenton. After 1986, he is lived in the Catholic Directory as being on a "Leave of Absence" or "On Duty Outside the Diocese". His assignments out of the Diocese of Trenton are as follows:
- St. Edward's, Nashville, Tennessee (1990-91)
- St. Paul the Apostle, Tullahoma, Tennessee (1992-93)
Iazetta died in 2007 in good standing with the Diocese of Trenton.
