Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Henry Mills:

According to media reports, in 1997, Fr. Henry Mills was accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy beginning in May 1992. The alleged abuse included "anal and oral sexual contact and other deviant sexual acts". The abuse occurred during a counseling session at Christ the King in the Bronx, and at St. Joseph of the Holy Family in Harlem. The abuse continued for several years.

His accuser claimed the priest plied him with alcohol and said if the boy told, he would say that the boy was the one that tried to seduce him, and that "nobody would ever believe" him. The archdiocese denied the allegations and said "if anything occurred, it was consensual sex".

In 1998, Mills countersued his accuser. He was removed from ministry and laicized in 2002, but that same year, was found celebrating masses in Manhattan and actively ministering at the parish and its school.

In April 2019, Mills' name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York's list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. Claims against him are eligible to be settled through the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP). His current whereabouts are unknown.
