Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Fr. Henry Neubig:
Fr. Henry Neubig was ordained a priest in 1934, and served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. According to media reports, in March 2019, Fr. Neubig was publicly named by the Diocese of Baton Rouge as the "subject of credible allegations of sexual abuse of one or more minors or vulnerable adults which allegedly occurred within the territory of the Diocese of Baton Rouge before its creation in 1961 and which were later reported to the Diocese of Baton Rouge after its creation as an independent diocese." The list notes that the allegation of child sex abuse in the mid-1950s against Neubig was received on August 17, 2007, after Neubig's death. The alleged abuse occurred when Neubig was assigned to Immaculate Conception in Lakeland, LA. No further information was released by the Diocese of Baton Rouge regarding the gender/age of the victim or the number of people who have come forward.
Fr. Henry Neubig died in 1975.
