Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Mark Falvey:
Fr. Mark Falvey was ordained a Jesuit priest in 1928, who served in multiple parishes in the Diocese of San Jose. He also worked in California, China, and the Philippines. According to media reports, in 2007, the Jesuit order agreed to a payout of $16 million to settle claims that Fr. Falvey sexually abused nine children over a period of 16 years ending in 1975. He was accused of molesting four girls and five boys at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Hollywood, California.
In 2004, Falvey was included on the Archdiocese of Los Angeles' list of clergy credibly accused of child sex abuse. In 2015, he was reportedly accused of abusing a survivor who lived in the Philippines when he was a freshman at Ateneo de Davao High School in Davao City in 1956, and that Falvey molested other students, as well. In 2018, the priest was also included on the Jesuits West Province list.
Fr. Mark Falvey died in 1975. He was the brother of Fr. Arthur Falvey who also was accused of child sexual abuse in a 2009 settlement of a separate case.
