Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Ramon Aymerich:
Father Ramon Aymerich was ordained a priest in 1975. According to media reports, he was born in Cuba, and came to Buffalo in 1966 after fleeing with his family for religious freedom. In 1975, he was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in Buffalo. However, in 1982, he became an Episcopalian and was received as a priest in the Episcopal Church. He served in congregations in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Southeast Florida and Newark before serving in the Diocese of Massachusetts at St. Anne’s Church and St. John’s Church in Lowell from 2004 to 2008. He retired from the US Air Force, where he served as a chaplain for 24 years. He died in1999.
In August 2019, Father Aymerich’s name was included in the Diocese of Buffalo’s list of “priests with substantiated allegations of abuse of a minor. It notes more than one allegation. Details of the allegations, including when and where the alleged misconduct occurred, are unknown.
