Summary of Abuse Allegations against Monsignor Edmund Netter:

Msgr. Edmund Netter was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of New York in 1951. He assisted in Haverstraw, Yonkers, and Manhattan parishes through the 1950s, with the exception of two years as an Army chaplain. He was named pastor of a Nanuet parish in 1968, a role he held for eighteen years. Netter was elevated to Monsignor status in 1986, and for the following eleven years served at St. Ann's in Nyack, New York until his death.

According to media reports, in February 2004, he was accused in a lawsuit of having sexually abused a 9-year-old girl from 1973 to 1979, until the girl was sixteen. The alleged abuse occurred weekly or bi-weekly in the rectory of St. Anthony's in Nanuet, where he was pastor, and at a house during vacations with the girl's family while everyone else was at the beach.

In April 2019, Netter's name appeared on the Archdiocese of New York's list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. Claims against him are eligible to be settled through the Independent Reconciliation and Compensation Program (IRCP).

Netter died in 1998.
