Summary of Allegations Against Monsignor Hugh Campbell:

Monsignor Hugh Campbell was ordained a priest in 1961 and served in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He served in multiple parishes throughout his career. According to a statement released by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, he was found not suitable for ministry after self-reported sexual abuse of a minor. Monsignor Campbell allegedly made the report in December 2011 at which time he was placed on administrative leave. Since then he had not been permitted to exercise his public ministry, wear clerical garb, or present himself publicly as a priest. He was also reported to law enforcement. According to the statement from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, once Monsignor Campbell had been declared not suitable for ministry he agreed to accept a supervised life of prayer and penance at Villa St. Joseph.

No details about the nature or context of the abuse have been made public.

Monsignor Campbell died in 2016.
