Summary of Abuse Allegations against Sister Ladet:
Sister Ladet was a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame order. According to media reports, in 2005, she was one of seven nuns named in lawsuits filed by six men alleging child physical, sexual and psychological abuse in dormitories at night at Madonna Manor, a Catholic home for troubled children in Marrero, LA. The suits are based on the plaintiffs' experiences between the ages of 4 and 14.
The home was operated by the Archdiocese of New Orleans' charitable arm, formerly called Associated Catholic Charities. The nuns named are either dead, aged and incompetent, or had left the order and could not be located. At least one claim included in almost $5.2million settlement with the Archdiocese in Fall, 2009.
