Employees Occupy Positions of Trust
Parents trust businesses and employers to provide safe environments for their employees and families. When children accompany a parent to work, they should be protected from abuse and exploitation, particularly when they are vulnerable because of their age or developmental disabilities.
Employees who become familiar with co-workers and their families may gain positions of trust that should never be exploited. Businesses have a responsibility to respond promptly to allegations of misconduct and to help ensure their workplaces remain safe for employees and their loved ones.
The allegations against Tyrone Daley involve the reported abuse of a co-worker’s daughter inside a workplace where the child was present while her mother worked. Cases like this underscore the importance of protecting vulnerable children and taking allegations of abuse seriously.
