Summary of Abuse Allegations against Father Francis (Frank) Capellupo:

According to media reports, in the 1990s a priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn went to Bishop Thomas Daily with concerns about late-night parties Fr. Francis (Frank) Capellupo held for teenage boys in the rectory of Most Precious Blood parish in Long Island City, New York.

"I said I had serious concerns that Capellupo was having children stay in his room overnight," a second priest said.

Despite the reports, no action was taken and he remained in ministry.

In 2000, Capellupo was arrested and charged with sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy. He denied the charges. They were later dropped and the case was sealed. In 2001, he was removed from ministry. In June 2005, another man reported that he was abused as a boy by Capellupo in the 1980s. The allegation was deemed credible. He was ultimately laicized in June 2012.

In February 2019, Capellupo's name appeared publicly on the Diocese of Brooklyn's list of clergy credibly accused of sex abuse of minors. His whereabouts from 2001 until his death in 2017 are unknown.
