Ordained in 1942, Fr. Sylvester Mancuso served 25 years with the church, spanning California and Arizona. Allegations were received in 1999 and 2004 of sexual abuse of minors occurring in 1961 and the early 1970s. Mancuso was named publicly as accused by the Santa Barbara Province Franciscans list, the Las Cruces Diocese’s list in 2019, and the Diocese of Gallup list. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim/victims, the nature of the alleged sexual abuse, or Mancuso’s assignments at the time of the alleged abuse is unknown.

Mancuso died in 1979 at the age of 64 while residing in Arizona.
