Summary of Sexual Abuse Allegations against Father Roberto Bravo:

In 1999, there were claims that the police investigated in which Bravo inappropriately touched six teenage girls. The case was dropped because the girls refused to testify.

Bravo was then assigned to the Newman Center Parish in Salt Lake City, Utah. According to the head of the Dominican’s Western Province, Bravo had problems with teenage girls there “similar to” those he had in California.

In 2002, Bravo was sent to live at this Dominican House of Formation where he and six other admitted Dominican sex offenders were living. According to media reports, Bravo was free to come and go, unrestricted. Neighbors were alarmed to find out that the men were living in their midst.

In 2005, Bravo left St. Albert’s Priory in Oakland, California after the Dominicans placed restrictions on him and then they contacted the police.

Bravo left the order in 2005 and is last known to have been living in Long Beach, CA.

In 2019, Bravo was included on a list of priests in the Diocese of Oakland who was named as being “credibly accused” of child sex abuse.
