Fr. Charles Soileau was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Lafayette in 1957, and served in multiple parishes in Louisiana for over 40 years. According to media reports, he was publicly named on the Diocese of Lake Charles 2019 list of credibly accused clergy. The list noted that Soileau was removed from ministry after an allegation of child sexual abuse against the priest in 1995 was received in 1999. The alleged abuse occurred in Houston, TX and Vinton, LA. Information about the age/gender of his alleged victim and the nature of the alleged sexual abuse was not provided by the Diocese of Lake Charles.

Fr. Charles Soileau died in 2011.
