Summary of Abuse Allegations against Fr. Francis Roscetti:
Fr. Francis Roscetti was one of the 156 priests identified by the Maryland Attorney General as having been accused of sexually abusing a minor during his tenure with the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
According to the Attorney General’s report, in 2013, parents reported that their son had been sexually abused by Fr. Roscetti in the mid-1980s, when the victim was in 2nd grade. Fr. Roscetti was the pastor at the St. Ambrose church in Cresaptown, where the abuse took place.
According to the report, a woman reported in 2015 having been sexually abused by Fr. Roscetti at St. Anthony’s parish in Ridgely, WV, between 1967 and 1972, beginning when the victim was 15 years old. Fr. Roscetti was a family friend before beginning a sexually abusive relationship with the victim.
Fr. Roscetti’s name appears on the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor. Fr. Roscetti’s name also appears on the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston’s list of priests credibly accused of sexual misconduct with a minor.
According to the AG’s report, Fr. Roscetti died in 1991.
